Do you want to lead people? Are you prepared for the responsibilities that go along with it? Leadership isn’t as easy as it looks in the movies. You will have to make some hard decisions as a manager, decisions that will not only affect the direction of your company, but the people you lead.

You need to have strong leadership skills, but what does that mean? What skills do you use as a leader? What skills should you be practising and honing when you first start with a company to show that you have the ability to take them to the next level?

1. Motivation – Can you get people to do a job without negativity or fear?

2. Trustworthiness – Are your actions inspired by integrity and honesty?

3. Creativity – Are you innovative? Can you think outside the box?

4. Communication – Can you relay your thoughts well enough for others to understand?

5.  Ability to follow – Would you follow you?

You don’t need to be the CEO of a company to take advantage of the same leadership skills. Be mindful of your own leadership skills with every decision you make and become a better you.
